Ukrainian Startup Fund launches Startup EDGE grant program with a budget of €1 million

The Ukrainian Startup Fund, with the support of EU4Innovation East, is launching the Startup EDGE grant program. The program aims to support the development of innovative startups at early stages and strengthen the competitiveness of Ukrainian startups in Europe and the world.

The Startup EDGE program will focus on Deep Tech, such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, etc., EdTech — digital educational solutions and technologies to transform learning, and Green Tech — sustainability, renewable energy, clean technologies, etc.

“The Ukrainian startup ecosystem continues to demonstrate extraordinary resilience and ingenuity in the face of adverse circumstances. Through the Startup EDGE program, the European Union confirms its commitment to empowering early-stage innovators who shape Ukraine’s future and contribute to strengthening the regional innovation landscape,” said Asier Santillan, Head of the European Integration, Good Governance, Rule of Law and Civil Society Unit of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine.

The program will offer financial support to startups through non-repayable grants. At the pre-seed stage, eligible startups can receive up to €20,000, and those at the seed stage can receive up to €40,000. The total budget of the program is €1 million.

Each application from startups will undergo a transparent multi-stage evaluation process, including internal compliance checks, expert evaluation, submission of the application to the competition committee, and final approval by the Fund’s Supervisory Board.

It is also worth noting that EU4Innovation East, which supports the Startup EDGE program, is funded by the European Union, as well as co-financed by the French government and implemented by Expertise France.

The application process will take place through the Ukrainian Startup Fund web portal at the link .
