In the occupied Genichesk, the Russian administration organized celebrations to mark the 241st anniversary of the city’s founding. The head of the so-called “Genichesk Municipal District” Yulia Semyakina congratulated residents and guests on “City Day”, calling Genichesk “a pride and harbor on the Sea of Azov.”
The occupiers position this date as a “symbol of the resilience and hard work of generations,” trying to erase the true historical continuity of the Ukrainian community and the Crimean Tatar people, who shaped the cultural and historical identity of the region.
Such “holidays” are an element of propaganda designed to create the illusion of a “Russian future” for the city, while in reality the occupying authorities are systematically destroying Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar cultural heritage, persecuting local residents, and forcing them to integrate into the legal field of the aggressor state.
Despite the loud statements of the occupiers, Genichesk remains a Ukrainian city that continues to resist the Russian occupation and will be liberated from it.
